Srilakshmi N. Review at Sheridan College, Oakville | Collegedunia

Learning skills of Business Administration program

SN
6.5 /10

I went to the Sheridan Hazel Mccallion campus in Mississauga. I was enrolled in the business administration-Human Resources program which was a two-year diploma program. During my time at Sheridan, I was guided by the career center for any career-related interests and resumes. There’s an international center that assured students of any concerns that international students may have. There are several groups where you can volunteer to gain some experience in event management, social work, and many other communities. It is a small campus but very accessible. I personally loved studying at the campus. There were study rooms and individual spaces to study. I spent most of my time at school during my time at Sheridan. When you are at Sheridan, all you have to do is to ask or reach out to those available resources and they will provide you guidance and make your life much easier. It was located in the city where I wanted to be and the college had good reviews and was known for business programs. I did my research online and also reached out to the international center before I could get admitted.

Course Curriculum :

Proper guidance will be provided if we reach out to them and make use of the resources available.

Exams :

IELTS -6.5. Reading -7 listening -6.5 writing -6 speaking -6.5. Sheridan accepts students with an IELTS score of 6 or 6.5 .

Placement :

Diploma programs that are 3 years long had placement options. However, even if you choose a two-year program you can extend it at the end of your fourth semester and vice versa.

Internship :

To be qualified for an internship, Sheridan requires you to choose a co-op program with at least 70% grade in all courses.

Events :

Sheridan HMC is smaller compared to the other Sheridan campuses. But I loved how accessible and modern it is. It is located right in downtown Mississauga making it easy to access by bus.

Fees :

Studying in Canada is a bit on the expensive side. I paid around $35000 for my four semesters excluding miscellaneous expenses. The only thing I regret not doing is that I did not find the right program for the same fee structure at a university.

Scholarship :

No. But I was with the Home Depot working part-time where students working part-time had the opportunity to apply for tuition fee reimbursement for certain programs which paid $3000 per year. We had to work for a year or repay the money in case we decide to quit before we could complete one year with them. I was a student so I stayed with them until I finished school.

Faculty :

All my professors and other faculties were extremely knowledgeable and made learning much easier. But before you could choose your professor please check professor ratings on ratemyprofessor.com. A good professor can help you a lot with your scores.

Hostel :

I did not stay at the college accommodation considering my privacy. It cost $700 for each student when I was at Sheridan. However, I lived near Sheridan in private housing for the same rent.
