I wanted to get into this university because of the course structure and the city. Calgary is one of the best places in Canada to live. The fees are also low than other universities.
Course Curriculum
You can choose courses whatever you like. It is very much relevant to me. One can go through the course list on the university website.
Exams
Entrance Exams requirement changes every year. My CGPA in B.tech is 9.08, and my IELTS scores are 6.5 I have 2 years of Work experience and also worked on three Projects. Higher the GPA, the better the chance of getting in (True across all the universities in Canada).
Placement
Career fairs and different events take place throughout the year. Some professors also help with placement depending on your relationship with them.
Internship
No, as my program is research-based.
Events
The campus is awesome. The whole campus has underground tunnels and skywalks (you will really need them during winter). The area is huge and the transit is good. There are several Libraries and other labs where you can just go and study. Some labs are open for the whole night. The university has its own team for different sports and you can also learn skiing.
Fees
20000 CAD is the program fee.
Scholarship
Full scholarship as it's a thesis-based course. I got back all my fees (around 20k for two years) and some extra that is sufficient for living.
Faculty
I don't know. You need to check with the department for the ratio. I am working with Dr. Vassil Dimitrov currently and he is really knowledgeable and helpful.
Hostel
I really don't know much about on-campus boarding as I am staying off-campus. On-campus is costly (around 800 CAD per month just rent). Better to look for off-campus places at rentfaster.ca or Kijiji.ca.
