- The classroom component of the program is supported by the placement for on-the-job training to ensure students obtain the necessary hands-on skills in the field.
- Placement in semester three to provide hands-on work experience in the field.
- Opportunities throughout the year to earn certifications related to the environmental field (e.g., Green Check GPS, Ontario Benthos Biomonitoring Network).
- Students will also prepare to write the Water Operator-in-Training (OIT) exam.
- Students have the opportunity to apply to be part of paid applied research teams to work on new product development alongside industry representatives and Cambrian faculty.
- The teacher-to-student ratio is 1:17 which helps increase interaction between professors and students.
- Students can get opportunities for experiential learning through clubs and competitions.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Eligibility:
- Applicants must be graduates of a diploma, advanced diploma, or degree from an Ontario College or equivalent in a relevant discipline (Biology, Chemistry, Earth/Environmental Science/Studies, Geology, Geography, Civil Engineering, Mining Engineering, Chemical Engineering).
Indian Student Eligibility:
- The students must have completed 10th and intermediate i.e 12th grade which has the minimum with 70% marks.
- Applicants must be graduates of a diploma, advanced diploma, or degree in an equivalent field.
Along with the minimum eligibility requirements, international students hailing from non-English speaking countries need to prove English proficiency through IELTS/TOEFL/any equivalent test.
