I think both the education faculty and HASS faculty as my university work very well to help you with anything you need. The education faculty is very good as replying to emails and I feel that the HASS faculty has some of the best tutors and lecturers.
The tuition fee varies from course to course however if you are an Australian citizen you can apply for HECS or FEE-HELP which I have both. There are many scholarships for both domestic and international students which are readily available on the UQ website but there are also emails sent out from the faculty you are in when applications for new scholarships are available.
I think my course curriculum is good. One of the downsides is that there is a lot of content to learn which is a bit hard and nerve-wracking. However, it gives us knowledge about a wide variety of subjects which is interesting.
The fee structure was that we had to pay by the due date. If we had difficulties then we can contact uni and talk to them about it and they would try to make it easier for us to pay for it. We do have to buy separate books for each course but they do try to recommend books that can be accessed through the UQ library.
It was a very in-depth program that really aided and equipped me for a career in research. It was also quite difficult as I had not studied at university for quite some time after I completed my undergraduate studies.
Because I am an Australian citizen, I opted to pay via HECS. This payment will begin once I am earning a certain amount of salary.
I believe the course curriculum is highly relevant and will help me to gain the skills and knowledge I need to enter the workforce in my field (science). However, the workload is quite heavy, with many more contact hours and tasks in my faculty than in others.
Fees are able to be out onto a HECS loan, meaning I do not have to pay for my full tuition until I earn a salary above a certain threshold. There was an amenities charge of ~$150 AUD which I paid outright instead of putting on HECS. Clubs and societies have individual fees but these are not compulsory to join.
