- QUT offers the only health information management course in Queensland and their course has been designed to respond to key health challenges in the information age, including investments in eHealth systems and electronic records, management of information requirements across the spectrum of health care and increasing use of evidence for decision making.
- Students will learn the latest methodologies and graduate with knowledge in business, information technology and health.
- During this course, they will visit health information managers at major hospitals, government agencies and not-for-profit organisations. These experiences provide insight into the diversity of available roles and offer valuable opportunities to network.
- They will prepare for transition to the workplace with professional placement that can be completed locally or overseas.
- Study will focus on business management, analysing and managing budgets, and eHealth systems. Health units will develop knowledge in medical terminology, the Australian healthcare system and clinical classifications.
- Health information managers are well suited to leadership roles because they understand clinical practices, finance functions, information technology applications and staff management. The combination of knowledge across business, information technology and health will prepare students for many roles.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Eligibility:
- Senior/Higher Secondary School Certificate/Pre-University certificate from QUT recognized state education boards with an overall average of 75% in the best five academic subjects (2 languages and 3 academic subjects), excluding physical education.
Indian students Eligibility:
- Indian School Certificate academic stream awarded by CISCE with an overall average of 60% in the best five academic subjects (two languages and three academic subjects), excluding physical education.
- All India Senior School Certificate academic stream awarded by CBSE with an overall average of 60% in best five academic subjects (two languages and three academic subjects), excluding physical education.
Applicant must have qualified IELTS, TOEFL, PTE to be eligible for the course.
