Flinders University offers admission to 500+ undergraduate, postgraduate and research programs. Each year, admission at Flinders University is offered for Semesters 1 and 2, commencing in February and July respectively. For admission to undergraduate programs at Flinders University, candidates from India need to submit an overall score of 65% - 70% in 4 best subjects. Visa Process for International Students

International students planning to study in Australia need to apply fora student visa(Subclass 500) to authorize their stay for the duration of their course. Once accepted to an Australian University, the student will then receive a Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) based on which they can apply for a student visa. However, prospective candidates planning to work and study at the same time should also have an Australian Work Visa.

Following are the documents that will be required to apply for a student visa:

  • Completed Australian Student Visa Application Form (157A)
  • Valid passport
  • Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE)
  • Visa application fee
  • Evidence of sufficient funds
  • Proof of English language proficiency such as IELTS, TOEFL PBT
  • Health Certificate
  • Overseas Student Health Cover
  • Character certificate: criminal record check, police certificate (optional), Character Statutory Declaration Form (optional)
  • Four recent passport-sized photographs
  • Statement of purpose for Visa

International students who are not able to meet the language requirements can opt for the pathway programs, provided they meet the academic requirements. Once accepted, students are required to enter the country up to 90 days before the course commences. Students are required to inform the education provider of their residential address within 7 days of arrival.

If a course is longer than 10 months and finishes at the end of the Australian academic year, the visa will be valid up till March 15 of the next year. If the course is longer than that, it will be valid up to two months after the completion of your course.

Flinders University Admission Decision

At Flinders University, undergraduate and postgraduate applications are generally evaluated within 10 days. In case of research programs, the university takes up to 8 weeks to process the application. The University takes into consideration multiple factors such as curriculum, ranks, GPA, profile, reference, work experiences, extra-curricular activities showing leadership qualities, and so forth while assessing application.

Candidates can accept their offer of admission through the International Application System. They also need to sign and upload an Acceptance Form. After that, students must pay the OSHC and semester tuition fee. However, in case of a conditional offer, candidates will not be able to complete this process unless they fulfull all the conditions.

Ans.Official transcripts should be directly sent from your previous institution to the University. Copies sent by the students can be used for reference. However, they are not official, and to have a final admission decision, official transcripts are required.

Ques. What happens if my application is not successful?

Ans.In this case, students are required to write to the admissions committee as to why there was a failure in the application. There may be a requirement for additional documents or other such formality.

Ques. How do I accept my offer for admission to Flinders University?

Ans.To accept the offer, students are required to complete the form “Your Agreement with Flinders”, and pay the tuition fee as well as the full-length OSHC as mentioned in the letter. In the case of a conditional offer, mentioned conditions must be fulfilled.

Ques. How and when will I receive my offer of admission to Flinders University?

Ans.Students generally receive the offer letter by email within 14 business days. Completion of the acceptance form is required at the students’ end.

As I aspire to become a doctor in the near future, I had to do a 3 year undergraduate course before actually going into a medical school. Flinders University offered me the course that I wished for and also had a 25% reservation for their undergraduates in their medical school

Best college of nursing program in the state and one of the leading universities in Australia/the world. It is also close to home (only 15-minute drive) which makes it easier to still live at home and study.

It was my second choice my first being Uni Adelaide. I'm glad I went to Flinders University however because I find they have a great community and everyone is very supportive and friendly.

Scholarship:

No, I haven't, however, they do offer a loan every semester but the process for the application is very rigorous.
