Deakin has consistently been the best teaching university in Victoria. Meaning that their lecturers regularly get voted the best in the state. Deakin also offers a wide range of support at their campuses and provides a brilliant atmosphere encouraging student success
Course Curriculum
It's fantastic. The course has been set out to ensure students succeed. It's quite difficult but if you don't like a challenge then you shouldn?t be doing Law anyway. Deakin?s Law course is fantastic for those who genuinely want to learn and challenge themselves.
Internship
Yes, it does. I haven't had a chance to apply for any of the internships yet but I most definitely plan on doing that soon. Deakin has partnerships with many law firms and so it would be fantastic to be at some of these firms.
Fees
Australia has a set fee structure for courses at university because fees are subsidized by the government. All Australians receive a Commonwealth Supported Place at all institutions within Australia. This means that you only pay a set amount each semester.
Examination Structure
The exam structure differs from unit to unit. All the Law exams I have undertaken at Deakin are open-book. Most of them consist of large essay type questions with some having a couple of short answer questions.
Faculty
The faculty is brilliant. Made up of people from different backgrounds and different parts of the world you get to learn from someone with experience which is always a fantastic opportunity to pick their brains.
