Great programs and qualified staff. I always wanted to travel to Australia as I have my family residing here too. A beautiful country with friendly people. Deakin University was the first university to offer me an enrollment. The others followed suit later.
Course Curriculum
Going well. It's pretty extensive and planned meticulously. Placements offer great first-hand exposure to the teaching life and are acquaint you with the expectations and duties as an Australian teacher.
Exams
IELTS - Band 8. Before this, I had completed my Bachelor's in English Literature from Pakistan. But nothing else apart from this.
Placement
The placements are wonderful and enriching. I've had 45 days of placement in 2 primary schools and this year it's gonna be 40 more days in the early school. So pretty excited about that and looking forward to it. About job opportunities, I guess time will tell.
Internship
Yes, they do but unfortunately, I haven't really been able to avail any of that. However several scholarships are made available from time to time.
Events
There are several events, so much so that it's hard to keep track of everyone. However, I do remember Holi and Diwali being celebrated. There are some local events and some international events so it's an amalgamation of both.
Fees
Very expensive (being an international student). About $27,000/ year for tuition fee only. Around $5000 for other expenses.
Scholarship
Not yet. Somehow I didn't qualify for any scholarship last year. Though I'll be trying to apply again this year.
Examination Structure
We don't have exams which is a fresh change for me and a relief but we do have assignments that get graded very meticulously. So one's gotta do thorough research and completely avoid plagiarism and submitting assignments within the due date.
Faculty
Extremely qualified. The staff is super friendly and is always ready and willing to assist be it a course difficulty or a time table issue. They offer solutions and are very encouraging.
Hostel
On campus, accommodation is pretty expensive so it was out of the question for me. I opted to reside with my sister in a shared apartment with other international students. It's budget friendly and functional.
