The program allows students to experience the breadth of an arts education while simultaneously following the more focused curriculum of an engineering major. Graduates of the program go on to work in a variety of fields and industries, tailored to their specific interests and strengths.

Lehigh's unique arts and engineering program allows students to pursue convergent and complementary interests. It is a five-year dual-degree program administered by the College of Arts and Sciences, with students earning two bachelor's degrees: one from the P.C. Rossin College of Engineering and Applied Science and another from the College of Arts and Sciences.

Arts-engineers fulfill all requirements for the professional engineering degree for which they are working. However, the first three years of science and engineering courses are spread out over four years, and during this time, the arts-engineer is a student in the College of Arts and Sciences pursuing a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science major program.
