  • Master of Science in Project Management (MSPM) is an interdisciplinary, 30-credit graduate program that uses case-based problem analysis learning environment to provide a comprehensive understanding of all aspects of project management theory and practice. The objective of this program is to provide students with the technical and soft skills to excel in challenging work environments and to meet the industry demand for project managers who can improve project performance.
  • The program brings together courses in project management, business, city & regional planning, engineering, information technology, liberal arts, sciences, social sciences, transportation, and several other disciplines to offer a rich educational experience. The professionals can advance in their careers in the private and public sectors. It also provides a career change path for working professionals. The newly designed program provides all the features of a full-time program on a convenient year-round evening and weekend schedule.

The program is based on Project Management Institute (PMI) standards. We use Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) extensively in our project management courses.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement

  • Have earned a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
  • The undergraduate record must be of such quality as to promise successful achievement at the graduate level. Only students with an undergraduate cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 will be considered for admission.  Students with an undergraduate cumulative GPA of between 2.5 and 2.99 may be considered for conditional admission. Post-bachelor's undergraduate credits will not be used to enhance G.P.A. requirements for admission to graduate study. 
  • Have completed, in a satisfactory manner, certain minimum course work in designated areas; the specific courses and amount of work depending upon the field of work which the student proposes to enter. 
  • Submit an application for admission together with an official copy of transcripts from all institutions attended, including graduate and undergraduate colleges and universities. 
  • Provide test scores (for those programs requiring them) on the Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT), the aptitude portion of the Graduate Record Examination (GRE), or the Miller Analogies Test (MAT). Test scores may not be more than 5 years old prior to date of application. 
  • Have three letters of recommendation sent to the Dean of the School of Graduate Studies from officials or faculty members of institutions previously attended who are acquainted with the applicant's ability for graduate study or from employment supervisors where applicable. 
  • Submit a one-page personal statement of academic and professional plans and the reasons for selecting Morgan State University.
