UT Austin was the best University among all that offer Online MS (Other options are Georgia Tech and UIUC). Both in terms of courses offered and tuition fee.

With limited spots and a high volume of qualified applicants each year, admission to the program is very competitive. Only those with a bachelor's degree in computer science or its equivalent are considered for entry.
- The department offers two in-person Master's degree options for students who aim to advance their research career: the MSCS with a thesis and the MSCS with no thesis/no report. Both programs require a total of 30 hours of coursework.
- The no thesis/no report option comprises of structured coursework, while the thesis option requires two thesis classes. Admitted students do not need to declare their chosen option at the time of admission, and can apply for the degree when they meet the requirements of the selected program.
- For students seeking a professional master's degree, the department also offers three master’s programs in an online format, taught by renowned faculty from UT.
