The education mission underpins all aspects of the program, as faculty participate in the teaching of undergraduate, medical and graduate students in multidisciplinary courses where understanding at the molecular level is emphasized. The education mission is also central to the research mission as students at all levels are important contributors to laboratory research, where they are trained to be competitive for educational and research positions in diverse academic and industrial environments.
Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Requirements:
- Applicant must have a bachelors degree in appropriate STEM area such as biological, chemical or pharmaceutical science
- Submit official transcripts from all universities and colleges ever attended
- Official transcripts should contain a course by course evaluation from an accredited agency
- Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 or equivalent on a scale of 4.0 in undergraduate coursework
- Applicant must have completed the following: One year of introductory biology (including a laboratory component)
- One year of introductory physics (including a laboratory component)
- One year of introductory chemistry (including a laboratory component)
- One year of organic chemistry (including a laboratory component), and
- One semester of biochemistry - Submit three letters of recommendation from individuals qualified to critically assess the applicant's prior academic (usually college professors), employment, artistic, research and/or clinical experience (clinical or research supervisor/manager) and qualifications (as applicable) as well as the applicant's potential as a graduate student in the field/program selected.
- Submitting GRE score is optional
- Submit English Language Proficiency test scores
English Language Requirements:
- TOEFL: minimum 79 in iBT; 213 in CBT
- IELTS: minimum 6.5
