The Augusta University Counselor Education Program for School Counseling has been reviewed and approved by the Professional Standards Commission of the State of Georgia. This allows School Counseling Certification to be awarded upon completion of all requirements. All inquiries regarding certification can be processed through the Certification Officer in the College of Education.

Some courses require outside field experiences, coordinated by the faculty, to help students gain a sense of professional responsibilities and expectations in the field. Courses are offered during evening hours, on Saturdays, or in hybrid or online formats to accommodate those who may already be working.
