Field of Study:

The goals and objectives of this program are as follows:

Provide professional grounding in the eight domains of information security as articulated for the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP): Security and Risk Management, Asset Security, Security Engineering, Communications and Network Security, Identity and Access Management, Security Assessment and Testing, Security Operations, and Software Development Security.
Offer professional grounding in the four domains of information security management as articulated by ISACA (previously known as the Information Systems Audit and Control Association): Information Security Governance, Information Risk Management and Compliance, Information Security Program Development and Management, Information Security Incident Management.
Deliver grounding in principles of enterprise management: Organizational Behavior, Management of Information Technology.
Afford grounding in tools supporting security management: System and Network Administration, Analytics, Data Management.

Academic Requirements:

Submit official transcripts from all universities and colleges ever attended
Official transcripts should contain a course by course evaluation from an accredited agency
Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 2.8 or equivalent on a scale of 4.0 in undergraduate coursework
Submit three letters of recommendation from individuals qualified to critically assess the applicant's prior academic (usually college professors), employment, artistic, research and/or clinical experience (clinical or research supervisor/manager) and qualifications (as applicable) as well as the applicant's potential as a graduate student in the field/program selected.

MS ISM students are expected to have a strong working knowledge of networking and security. Students with undergraduate technology related degrees and work experience are expected to benefit the most from this program
