- The Bachelor of Science with a major in health and physical education program at Trine University prepares you to teach in classrooms from preschool to grade 12. This allows you to play an important role in the future of our youth.
- In the Bachelor of Science with a major in health and physical education program, you will learn the science of the human body through anatomy, kinesiology and exercise physiology. Courses in motor learning, sport psychology and athletic training will help you to understand the theory and practice behind developing a healthy lifestyle. Extensive clinical experiences are completed in elementary school, middle school, and high school settings.
- Our faculty come from a variety of backgrounds and experiences, all related to classroom teaching, advanced research and preparing future teachers. The academically rigorous teacher education program focuses on:
- the most up-to-date curriculum
- instructional strategies
- classroom management techniques
- innovative integration of classroom technology
- Students spend over 400 hours in clinical experiences prior to graduation, beginning in the very first semester and concluding with a semester-long student teaching experience.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement
- High school students need to take the American College Test (ACT) and/or the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) and request that scores be sent to Trine University. Our code numbers are 1250 for the ACT and 1811 for the SAT. NOTE: the writing section of the ACT and SAT are optional.
- Upon graduation from high school, send your official final high school transcript that includes graduation date to admissions. You will also want to submit transcripts for dual credit or other college courses to be reviewed for credit. An applicant for freshman standing who achieves a score of 3, 4, or 5 on the College Entrance Examination Board’s Advanced Placement (AP) Examination may be granted credit.
