  • The Counselor Education Department offers quality graduate programs through didactic, experiential and applied learning opportunities.
  • Students will develop a personal theory and practice of counseling that will allow them to function as effective counselors, leaders and agents of change in a variety of settings.
  • Three concentrations lead students to a Master of Science degree:
    • Clinical Mental Health Counseling
    • School Counseling
    • Human Services Professional Masters Program (a non-clinical option)
  • An option for anyone with a bachelors degree is to take courses that will lead to the:
    • Addiction Counseling Certificate
  • Upon completion of addiction courses, students are eligible to apply to become a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC) in Minnesota.
  • This program also meets part of the requirement for Substance Abuse Counselor (SAC) in Wisconsin.
