Economics majors also develop strong critical thinking skills that serve you in your career as well as in all other aspects of life. Here you will acquire the quantitative and computer skills necessary to solve complex business problems.

Economists study how society distributes scarce resources, such as land, labor, and capital to produce goods and services. We conduct research, collect and analyze data, monitor economic cycles and trends, and make forecasts.

The?economics undergraduate major?consists of: 6 required courses (18 credit hours); 3 required quantitative courses (9 credit hours); 6 upper division economics courses (18 credit hours); the General Education curriculum; and general electives to finish the degree with a minimum of 120 credit hours.?

To earn an economics major, a minor in a different academic discipline is required. The College of Business admission policy does not apply to the economics major.?


Eligibility & Entry Requirement

Academic Requirements:

  • Submit official transcripts of all previous education completed
  • Official transcripts must be translated into english if not in English
  • Submitting SAT/ACT scores is optional
  • Submit English Language Proficiency test scores
