The physical education/teacher certification program provides the scientific background for analyzing and understanding human movement while the performance skill courses equip the prospective teacher with sport and dance skills necessary to be a well-prepared physical education teacher. PE majors are encouraged to complete five specific courses in the Public Health Department so they are eligible to obtain health and physical education certification, grades kindergarten through 12 in New Jersey.
