Part of the Columbian College of Arts and Sciences’ arts and humanities program, the Department of English fosters critical reflection on literature and culture, connecting reading practices with lucid writing and persuasive argumentation. Students explore issues including community, creativity, cultural conflict and history within an extraordinary range of texts.
Students can major in English alone or complete a degree with a dual major in English and creative writing. Creative writing is also offered as a minor.
The English program is offered at George Washington University.
Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Applicants must have completed their secondary education (high school) and have not yet attended any post-secondary institution (college or university).
