Music is the art of combining vocal or instrumental sound to evoke emotion, produce beauty of form, or create harmony, melody or rhythm. Humans have been making music since the beginning of time, and music is present in some form in every culture and society around the world. The music department at Valdosta State University prepares students to have lifelong careers as musicians, music educators or professionals who work in the field of music.
Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Requirements:
- Applicant must have a bachelors degree in music from an accredited university
- Applicant must have minimum GPA of 3.0 in undergraduate and a GPA
- Applicant must submit a course by course evaluation of the official transcripts
- Students should complete one audition for admission consideration to the program
- Submit three letters of recommendation from professionals familiar with your academic background
- Submit English Language Proficiency test scores
English Language Requirements:
- TOEFL: minimum 69 in iBT
- IELTS: minimum 6.0
- PTE: minimum 53
