The mission of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering is to teach the fundamentals of civil engineering science, analysis, design, and management to empower students to assume careers as professional engineers; to conduct basic and applied research, to improve the state of knowledge of civil engineering; to serve as a source of information and advice to the community on engineering matters; and to assist in the continuing education of professional engineers and other interested individuals. The department has a special mission to provide an opportunity for a civil engineering education for under-represented groups in the profession.

Academic Requirements:
- Applicants must have a bachelors degree or masters degree from an accredited university
- Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 in last 60 hours of undergraduate or 3.0 in graduate coursework
- Submit official transcripts of all previous education institution attended
- Submit GMAT/GRE scores
- Submit three letters of recommendation
- Submit English Language Proficiency test scores
English Language Requirements:
- TOEFL: minimum 80 in iBT; 550 in PBT
- IELTS: minimum 6.5
