Established in 1846, Northeastern State University was initially founded as the Cherokee National Female Seminary. However, the university became a state institution on March 6, 1909, when the Oklahoma legislature purchased the Female Seminary. NSU is a public university and is located in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, United States. - Northeastern State University has three campuses including Tahlequah, Muskogee, and Broken Arrow.
- NSU offers plenty of exciting opportunities for its students with more than 90 student organizations, 10 NCAA athletic teams, and lots of on-campus and nearby activities.

Application Process
Northeastern State University welcomes applications from all qualified international candidates. International students seeking admission at NSU must follow the application process provided on the Admissions page.

- Application Fee: A non-refundable application fee of USD 25 for both undergraduate and graduate programs.
- Application Documents:
- Students must mail their official transcripts to the Office of International Programs.
- The transcripts must be sent and sealed by the institution of study.
- High School transcript must contain at least 3 years of study and they must be in the English language.
- Students should have a 4.0 scale GPA.
- Applicants for graduate study must submit official transcripts of undergraduate coursework.

Financial Aid
- NSU offers scholarships to full-time, degree-seeking international students who need funds to study in the US.
- The scholarships are offered by the Office of International Programs and if granted, will be applied towards the student’s tuition over two semesters.
- To qualify for the scholarship, students must fill out the application and must gain full admission to a degree program and have a minimum GPA of 2.75.
- The Office of International Programs will review applications and notify qualified applicants only.
- Students must submit the International Scholarship Application for New NSU students by July 1 for the Fall Semester and November 1 for the Spring Semester.
- At NSU, 94% of the undergraduate students receive some form of financial aid.
