Admission to the University of the Incarnate Word (UIW) is slightly selective. It had an acceptance rate of 89% in the Fall. UIW has 11 academic colleges and schools offering diverse subject areas. Note - Any applicant who received secondary education or any degree from institutions in the U.S, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom will be exempted from submitting English proficiency scores.
Conditional Admission and Form I-20
International students may apply for conditional admission without English proficiency scores. They are eligible for August, January, and July semesters. The following is the process-
- Submit the international application form
- Upon conditional admission, international candidates have to complete the UNAM - San Antonio application sent by the UIW admissions office
- Applicants will then receive an acceptance packet from the university, the UNAM- San Antonio acceptance letter, and the Form I-20
- With conditional admission to UIW, students have access to UIW dormitories, events, and the support of the International Student & Scholar Services Office.
Visa Requirements
If admitted, all international students will need to acquire a visa to study in the US. UIW will issue them an I-20 once the applicant has fulfilled the requirements stated below:
- Proof of sufficient funds
- Copy of the biographical page of the passport
After receiving the visa document, applicants must follow the instructions to pay their SEVIS fee and contact the nearest US Consulate to schedule and prepare for their visa application and interview.
