The philosophy graduate program is dedicated to preparing graduates for a career in higher education. We provide training in logic or formal reasoning and provide a broad introduction to the history of philosophical thought, and contemporary debates in value theory, epistemology, and metaphysics.
Learning Outcomes:
- Ability to read and analyze philosophical texts, both contemporary and historical. (Evidence of learning will be GSQE)
- Broad background in the following philosophical areas: Ethics and Value Theory, Metaphysics, Epistemology and Philosophy of Science, History of Philosophy, Logic and Formal Methods. (Evidence of learning will be grades of B+ or better in courses (B for Logic and Formal Methods).)
- Mastery of subject matter content in areas of competence at a level supporting ability to teach undergraduate classes. (Evidence of learning will be B+ or better grades in courses.)
- Ability to develop extended written treatment of a philosophical problem. (Evidence of learning will be MS thesis)

Eligibility & Entry Requirement
- A bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited U.S. college or university or from an institution recognized by the Ministry of Higher Education in their home country with at least a 3.0 or higher undergraduate weighted mean GPA on a 4.0 scale.
- Students whose official language is not English are required to submit IELTS, TOEFL, or PTE scores.
