With an average acceptance rate of 88%, Lindenwood University admissions are not very selective. A total of 3,899 applicants applied for admissions this semester and around 3,430 applicants were accepted.

It offers more than 125 undergraduate and graduate programs to over 8,392 students from 50 states and over 75 foreign countries.

Lindenwood University International Admissions

It accepts international applicants provided they fulfill the minimum eligibility criteria. There is hardly any difference in the admission procedure for international and domestic students. International students however need to meet additional requirements to study in the USA.

International applicants from non-English speaking countries are required to submit a proof of English Language Proficiency by submitting one of the following scores:

Visa Process for International Students

International applicants need to apply for a student visa to study in the USA. Applicants will require the acceptance letter and I-20 form to apply for a visa.

To be eligible to receive an I-20 from the university, in addition to the academic requirements, you must submit an acceptable certificate of finances.

The requirements of I – 20 are:

  • International Student Agreement Form: It is available on the website and can be emailed
  • Enrolment Form
  • Bank Statements - USD 39,151
    • If bank statements are not in the student’s name, a signed Statement of Support Form in the amount of USD 39,151 will be required.
    • The Statement of Support Form is available on the website.
    • Funds must be dated within the last 6 months and immediately liquidate
  • Copy of passport
  • Official IELTS/TOEFL Report
  • Official GRE report, if Applicable
  • Official/Attested copies of university transcripts and degree certificate
  • Transfer Recommendation Form - This form is required only for those students currently studying in the United States on an F-1 Student Visa.

Following are the steps for applying for a visa:

  • Receive I-20/DS-2019
  • Pay SEVIS I-901 fee (separate from visa fee)
  • Complete DS-160 online visa application
  • Schedule and complete visa interview at US Embassy/Consulate

Ques. When will I receive my I-20?

Ans. Lindenwood University processes new i-20s as students become eligible. Once accepted, students will receive an email with detailed instructions to follow for the Office of Admissions and Services for International Students (OASIS) to generate an admission letter and i-20 document.

Ques. Are unofficial transcripts and test scores accepted at Lindenwood University?

Ans. Yes. Due to COVID 19 Pandemic, Lindenwood University is accepting unofficial transcripts and test scores. But the student is required to contact his/her admission counselor about this. It is better to submit electronic documents. The candidate needs to submit the official documents before the class starts.

Ques. From whom can I get details of financial aid?

Ans. The student can get details of financial aid from the Student Financial Services (SFS) team of the university.

Ques. Whom should a student contact to get proper information regarding admission?

Ans. Students can contact the University Admission staff from Monday to Friday between 8 am to 5 pm. Students can reach the staff by telephonic call, email chat, and video conference.

Ques. Is it possible for a student to take online courses and maintain his/her F-1visa status?

Ans. In normal regulation, it is possible to take only one online course in full-time enrolment. But due to COVID-19, the Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) allows the student to temporarily engage in online courses. So as a full-time course student, he/she can maintain his/her F-1 visa status.
