Since its inception in 1964, the philosophy of Duquesne University's Special Education program has been one that acknowledges the dignity and uniqueness of each individual. Our mission is to prepare skilled educators who will maximize the potential for achieving a meaningful quality of life for individuals with disabilities. MS.Ed Applied Behavior Analysis is a 30 credit-hour program with curriculum that will prepare graduates for employment and advancement within various community agencies and school settings. Candidates will develop skills and competencies appropriate to positions of direct care, health maintenance, advocacy, intensive case management or independent support coordination. Students pursuing this degree will also complete the verified course sequence for the Board Certified Behavior Analyst certification. They will have the opportunity to join faculty research projects, or develop their own research projects. The curriculum in this program will build a solid foundation in ABA that can be used to further student's education for a doctorate degree in this area and provides necessary coursework for the Behavior Specialist License in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
