The Department is committed to excellence in research and teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. We also contribute to interdisciplinary majors including Neuroscience, Early Childhood Education, Cognitive Studies, Gender and Sexuality Studies, and African & African Diaspora Studies. We strive to develop and maintain programs of excellence in research that contribute to our understanding of the social, developmental, evolutionary, and biological factors that underlie behavior. Our primary objective in blending our scientific and educational mission is to promote new knowledge in the discipline of psychology through programmatic research while providing a rich training environment for both our graduate and undergraduate students.
