Vanderbilt University offers three admission decision plans for first-year undergraduate programs. These are - Early Decision I, Early Decision II and Regular Decision. Candidates applying at Vanderbilt University by Early Decision I and II deadlines should note that they are binding decision plans. The decisions for applications received through Early Consideration deadline are generally made in mid-January while admission decisions for application through regular consideration are received by late-March.

Vanderbilt University Admission: Selection Criteria and Acceptance Rate

Vanderbilt University acceptance rate has been recorded as 7% as per the Fall 2022 admissions. Not just the low acceptance rate that makes Vanderbilt highly competitive but also the high GPA and test score requirements for admission. This makes it extremely difficult to get into. The university prefers only those students who are academically elite and have achieved above par in the previous qualifications completed.

Hence only students who are absolutely committed to studying at Vanderbilt University if selected should apply by the Early Decision Deadlines. Moreover, a high school counselor, guardian or parent is required to sign the Early Decision Agreement. Candidates applying for Early Decision I will be notified by mid-December. Early Decision II applicants will be notified by mid-February.
