Civil and Sustainability Engineering graduates have the potential for professional engineering licensure and employment throughout the United States. A wide variety of positions are available in small and large engineering design firms; construction companies; municipalities; state and federal agencies; and the military. Careers include design, field engineering, and project management.
Civil and Sustainability Engineering serves the basic needs of society through the planning, design, and construction of buildings, roads, bridges, water and wastewater distribution and treatment systems, storm water management systems, landfills, water pollution control, and the cleanup of contaminated soils and groundwater. Resource and energy conservation, reuse and recycling of materials, and protection of public health and the environment are intrinsic to the program.
Civil and Sustainability Engineering provides students with education, knowledge, and experience in:
- Structural analysis
- Steel and Concrete Design
- Water and Wastewater Treatment System Design
- Transportation Systems Design
- Soil and Groundwater Remediation Design
- Storm Water Collection System Design
- Construction Planning and Estimating
- Construction Materials
Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Eligibility:
- Applicant must have received or be receiving a high school diploma or a GED certificate before the term for which he/she is applying.
- Applicant submit your official high school transcript after graduation.
- If GPA is 2.0-2.99, applicant must also report ACT or SAT test score on the application.
Standards:
- High school GPA of 3.0 or higher (no ACT/SAT test score required for admission decision).
- High School GPA of 2.0 - 2.99 with an ACT composite score of 18 or higher (SAT 960 or higher).
Indian Student Eligibility:
Indian students are eligible to apply if they have any one of the following certificates:
- All-India Senior School Certificate (AISSCE)
- Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC)
- Indian School Certificate (ISC)
- Intermediate Examination Certificate
- Pre-University Examination Certificate
- Students must have a Grade XII chemistry or Grade XII physics.
- Students also hold Grade XII math (Minimum math result of 55%).
Students are not required to take the IELTS or TOEFL Academic if English is their native language or if Students have spent at least three years at a secondary school where English is the primary language of instruction.

- IELTS overall score of 6.0 (5.5 for full admission with condition)
- TOEFL overall score of 71 (61 for full admission with condition)
- SAT score of 960
- GTEC overall score of 1190 (1100 for full admission with condition)
- PTE overall score of 51 (45 for full admission with condition)
- TOEIC overall score of 790 or higher with 160 or higher speaking ( 700 with 140 or higher speaking for full admission with condition)
