Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Eligibility:
- All applicants must possess a Bachelor of Science degree or an undergraduate engineering degree. This degree must include the following:
- 3 semester hours (1 course) of general chemistry
- 12 semester hours (4 courses) of science, which could include biology, chemistry, or physics
- Mathematics courses through differential equations
- Undergraduate Mechanical Engineering majors at LMU who are applying for the combined B.S. / M.S. in Mechanical Engineering must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- TOEFL/IELTS: All applicants must take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) unless they received a high school diploma or a bachelor's degree in the United States.
- Transcript Evaluation: International applicants who have completed their postsecondary education from an institution outside the United States (U.S.) must hold a degree from a university recognized by the Ministry of Education as a degree-granting institution. Transcripts from an international institution must be translated and evaluated by a U.S. transcript evaluation service before the application is considered for admission.
- Standardized Test Scores from the General Test of the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) or Miller Analogies Test (MAT).
