Benedictine University International Student Admissions

The university accepts international applications. In order to be considered and be accepted one must have completed secondary education with a college preparatory curriculum, attained the minimum grade point equivalent, render required official academic records, meet deadlines, and tuition deposits.

International students are recommended to submit their application at least three months prior to the start of the term.

For international students, English language proficiency must be established by taking any one of the IELTS or TOEFL tests. This score can be submitted instead of the ACT or SAT score for undergraduate applications. However, at least one test score of the ACT, SAT, TOEFL or IELTS is mandatory to be submitted.
All international students applying to the university will need to have their credits evaluated to narrow down to a specific GPA as well as reach the US equivalent to credit hours.8
All official evaluations must be submitted to the Office of Admissions. The university avails the services of Educational Perspectives (EP), Educational Credential Evaluators (ECE) or World Education Services (WES) for all international academic evaluations. An official evaluation from these three can also be directly sent to the university.
Make sure that while applying, undergraduate aspirants opt for a high school or university-based course by course evaluation of credit.
Graduate students should ask for a ‘course by course’ evaluation of credit.

English Language Proficiency Requirements

International Applicants that do not belong to English-speaking countries need to submit proof of their English speaking skills by providing test scores like TOEFL, IELTS, etc. Undergraduate applicants have the option of providing ACT or SAT English scores as well. Visa Process for International students

The university has a dedicated team ‘International Programs and Services’ for aiding international students regarding their admission process.
Ensure that you have an I20 and DS-2019 form before arriving in the USA as this confirms your F1 status and is required for obtaining a visa to study in the USA.
The above forms will be supplied to the applicant once admission has been granted to the university and the applicant has shown sufficient proof of funding for their term of study at Benedictine.
The sponsor must also submit a letter from the financial firm indicating the account has enough funds to sponsor the applicant. Fund must be documented in USD.
A SEVIS fee of 200 USD is applicable for I20 form and 180 USD for the DS-2019 form.

The University has rolling admissions throughout the year for fall terms. Students are encouraged to apply within the first semester of their senior year in high school and international students must complete their application and ready their documents at least 3 months prior. The submitted application takes about a week to be reviewed.

A minimum GPA of 2.5 on 4.0 is required, ACT Recommended Minimum Score of 21 and SAT Recommended Minimum Score:1060 (Math and Critical Reasoning combined score)
If you have 20 credits or less, your high school credits would also be required. International students would have to submit foreign credit evaluation.
In case an undergraduate applicant does not meet the requirements, they may also be asked to submit a personal statement, seventh-semester transcripts, a letter of recommendation from a high school counselor.
The topic of the personal statement is ‘What are your academic strengths and how will they help you at Benedictine?’13 This letter stands as a method of reflection of past academic endeavors and as well as your writing skills.

Benedictine University Graduate Admissions

Benedictine is home to about 16 graduate programs in clinical psychology, business analytics, nutrition and wellness, accounting and business administration, among others available for its aspirants from across the globe seeking to study in the USA..
