Academic programs in the College of Communications prepare students to work in a number of media-related industries and related fields in business, education, entertainment, government, healthcare, nonprofit, for profit and more. Communicators may be objective reporters of news and information, persuasive advocates on behalf of clients and organizations, or trained specialists enabling others to communicate effectively.
Drawing heavily on strong theoretical foundations in the liberal arts and social sciences, the College of Communications applies the tools and techniques of today?s ever-changing environment to match messages with audiences and provide students with the skill-sets to enjoy successful careers in an increasingly global competitive arena.
The Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies requires 42 units in the major, including 18 units of core requirements, 12 units of breadth experiences and 12 units within one of five emphases: Argumentation and Persuasion; Communication Studies; Intercultural Communication; Interpersonal Communication; and Organizational Communication.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Requirements:
- Applicant must be a high school graduate or equivalent
- Official transcripts from grade 9 to 12 will be required if admission is provided
- Must have completed 15 units of A-G course which include 1 year of history and social science, 4 years of English, 4 years of Maths, 2 years of laboratory science, 2 years of language other than English, 1 year of visual and performing arts
- Submit English Language Proficiency scores
- Candidate must have earned a grade of minimum C- in previous coursework

- TOEFL: minimum score of 61 in iBT
- IELTS: minimum score of 5.5
- PTE Academic: minimum score of 43
