Kentucky State University Admission Deadlines

Applications are processed on a rolling basis. However, all applicants are encouraged to apply as soon as possible. The application deadlines for graduate applicants are as follows:

Kentucky State University International Student Admissions

Kentucky State University welcomes international students provided they satisfy the admission requirements. There are 3 enrollment sessions and international applicants are encouraged to apply as soon as possible. The KSU Office of Academic Affairs entertains all admission queries from international students.

Admission Requirements: International students must attach the following documents to the application for admission:

  • Official high school transcripts
  • Verification of graduation from high school
  • Certificate in English with certified translation.
  • A transcript evaluation form with GPA from an accredited evaluation agency in the U.S. is necessary.
  • Official SAT/ ACT or TOEFL scores
  • Declaration of Certification of Finance showing sufficient funds are available to finance the planned course of study without causing undue hardship on the student.
  • Statement from bank, lending agency or sponsor
  • All international students are required to submit a 3,500 USD deposit in order for the I-20 to be issued.

English Language Proficiency Requirements

International students whose native language is not English must submit one of the following test scores as proof of English language proficiency. The minimum score requirements are as follows:

Visa Process for International Students

International students will be able to apply for a visa to study in the U.S., once you have received the official acceptance letter and I-20 form from Kentucky State University. Applicants will have to submit an F-1 student visa online and pay 350 USD SEVIS fee through the U.S. embassy website.

Kentucky State University offers 7 master’s degree programs to students in the fields of Business Administartion, Environmental Studies, Aquatic Sciences, Computer Science, Behavioural Science, etc. A Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program is also offered by the university. Prospective students must hold a completed bachelor’s degree and provide full academic history in the application.

After receiving the complete application in the prescribed manner, the application package is forwarded to the program faculty for review and voting for admission to the program. It must be noted that any application is not sent to the program for review until all required information is received. International applicants are encouraged to apply at least 3 months prior to the application deadline due to longer processing time. Admission decisions can be expected shortly after the Office of Graduate Studies determines that the application is complete. On receiving the official letter of acceptance, international applicants must be prepared to prove his/ her ability to meet the college expenses.
