Graduates of the program are teachers, diagnosticians, coordinators and supervisors in schools, juvenile correctional facilities, psychiatric hospitals, regional service centers and private or governmental agencies.
Many of our faculty members are nationally known in their field. They remain current on practices through research experiences, high levels of academic preparation and the service projects they coordinate. They have expertise in programs and procedures for gifted learners; establishments of partnerships to facilitate services for exceptional individuals; and behavioral management systems for special populations, parent and professional communication and collaboration.
In addition to specialized courses, we provide you many opportunities to participate in interdepartmental studies, become involved in community-based programming and network with other special education professionals.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Eligibility:
The students will need to meet the admission requirements for the graduate school and the following program requirements
- Completed program application
- GRE scores
- Official transcripts from all schools attended
- Three letters of recommendation
- 3.00 GPA in the undergraduate degree for admission to the master's program.
Language Requirements:
This university accepts any one of the measures as proof of English language proficiency.

Complete Level 6 at UNT's Intensive English Language Institute (IELI).The Intensive English Language Institute (IELI) at the University of North Texas helps international students develop academic skills in English.

Complete a Qualifying Academic Program where the official language is English.

Achieve a Qualifying Score on an English Language Proficiency Test Accepted by UNT. Some of the tests accepted by this university are IELTS, TOEFL, PTE, ACT,.. etc.

Complete Qualifying Courses, Degrees or Diplomas like IB (International Baccalaureate) where Grade 5 or above on the Higher-Level English A1 subject, College Level English courses, Earned college working hours of 30 with a GPA of 2.25 in any accredited US college or any college in English speaking countries.
