Texas A&M University International Student Admissions

Texas A&M University -Corpus Christi classifies an applicant who is not a permanent citizen of the United States or who is not a citizen of the United States or who holds a non-traditional visa type as an international applicant. English Proficiency Test Scores

International students are required to prove a certain level of their competencies in speaking, listening, writing, and reading the English language. These tests include the TOEFL, IELTS or equivalent minimum scores for which are as compiled below.

Visa Process for International Students

After enrolment, the International Student Services Coordinator generates an I-20 for admitted students. To get the I-20 and other immigration documents, applicants are to access the official website. Students are then to complete the 1-901 Fee Form and pay the 200 USD SEVIS fee.

When the SEVIS fee is paid, students will take the payment receipt, official letter of admission to their I-20 to the U.S. Embassy located in their country. Issuance of the F1 visa to study in the USA will be done which will enable the student to enter the United States.

Admitted international students are required to provide and submit directly to the University Health Center, documentations from a U.S. health care provider of a negative TB skin test (Mantoux tuberculin test), or negative chest X-ray. More so, a chest x-ray is required of students with a history of positive TB skin tests. A skin test is also required even if a student possesses a BCG (Bacille Calmette-Guerin) vaccine. Students in nursing, the clinical laboratory science track in biomedical sciences, and education programs must meet specific immunization requirements.

To be able to register for classes, students are expected to be covered by the Texas A&M University System's student health insurance plan, otherwise, show proof of equivalent insurance coverage.

  • Applicants who are non-United States citizens but are considered Permanent Residents may be required to provide a copy of a Permanent Resident Card (Form I-551) to prove their legal status.
