When you choose to study the  programme offered by the Capital University, you can be sure that you will be more than adequately prepared for what lies ahead. You will have a competitive edge. From in-depth conservatory training and a solid foundation of classes in educational methodology to extensive field experience that begins during the third semester of study and culminates with a 14-week student teaching experience, our students are ready for the real world when they graduate.

Truth is, there are several things that put this program in a class of its own. First, applicants must be outstanding musicians to enter the program. And because the degree is a Bachelor of Music — and not a Bachelor of Arts or a Bachelor of Science — the quality of our graduates is unmatched. You can choose from three tracks: instrumental, vocal or dual (a combination of instrumental and vocal), which provides a wide variety of options within the major.

The students can choose from multiple paths to achieve their educational goals. Some opt for an international experience and decide to study for a semester at the prestigious Zoltán Kodály Pedagogical Institute of Music in Kecskemét, Hungary. Upon graduation, many go on to teach in Ohio and around the country. Others continue their studies at some of the finest graduate schools in the nation. If you love music and can't wait to ignite that passion in others, then this is the major for you.
