- The objective of this non-thesis MSc program is to provide an alternative pathway for students to complete an MSc degree in chemistry that does not involve an in-depth research project and thesis
- This degree option is intended for students whose personal interests or current work responsibilities lower the desirability of conducting the required research courses for the thesis-based MSc degree
- Upon completion of the MSc non-thesis option degree program, students will have:
- Broad knowledge of the basic areas of chemistry or biochemistry, with specific sub-areas of concentration.
- An overall view of recent advances in chemistry or biochemistry.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academics:
Qualified students may be recommended for admission to regular degree status by approved programs of the Graduate School provided they meet the following criteria:
- They hold a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university or have done work equivalent to that required for such a degree.
- They have had adequate preparation to enter graduate study in the Chemistry,
- They have at least a 2.75 (on a 4.00 scale) undergraduate GPA (for engineering, 3.00). (Note: Applicants who cannot meet criterion 4 may still secure regular admission if they have completed 9 credit hours of relevant graduate coursework with at least a 3.25 average.)
