Research interests of our distinguished faculty include algebra, approximation theory, combinatorics, differential equations, dynamical systems, functional analysis, geometry and topology, complex and harmonic analysis, number theory, mathematical modeling, numerical analysis, probability, and scientific computation. Many of our faculty collaborate with researchers in other disciplines, such as computer science, geosciences, physics, engineering, and life sciences.
We offer instruction that leads to bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees in mathematics. We also offer a distance master's program. Over 25,000 students enroll in our courses each year. In addition to their regularly scheduled classes, we offer them a wide array of web-assisted supplemental instructional services.
The department also supports activities and programs for middle and high school students, for their teachers, and for the general public.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Eligibility:
- Students must have an official secondary school transcript to get admission.
- Students are required to maintain at least a 2.0 overall GPA.
Language Requirments:
- Students whose official language is not English are required to submit IELTS or TOEFL scores.
- Students are required to submit an SAT or ACT score to be considered for admission.
International students who currently or will hold a degree from an institution where English is the primary language of instruction, do not need to submit a TOEFL or IELTS score report.
