Candidates progress through the MAT Program as part of a cohort, a design that will enhance the delivery of University support and promote collaboration in planning, implementation, and evaluation. The Mississippi Department of Education issues MAT Program licensure in the following areas: Art, Biology, Business, Chemistry, Elementary Education (grades 4-6), English, French, German, Home Economics, Marketing, Math, Music, Physical Education, Physics, Social Studies, Spanish, Special Education (grades K-12), Speech Communications, and Technology Education.?

Academic Requirements:
- Applicants must have completed bachelors degree from an accredited university
- Applicants should submit official transcripts of all previous coursework completed
- Applicants must have a minimum 2.75 GPA or equivalent
- Official transcripts need to be evaluated by a NACES accredited agency like ECE or WES
- Submit an essay of 250 words essay on why you want to pursue the program and how you can contribute
- Submit a passing score on Praxis core writing exam
- Submit English Language Proficiency test scores
English Language Requirements:
- TOEFL: minimum 70 in ibt; 525 in PBT; 196 in CBT
- IELTS: minimum 6
- Duolingo: minimum 110
