The undergraduate and graduate programs, because of strong departmental research emphasis, have special strengths in rock mechanics and ground control, coal processing, surface coal mining, environmental problems related to mining and processing, and systems analysis with recent increasing emphasis on management (disposal/utilization) of coal combustion by-products. Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Requirements:
- Submit official transcripts of high school/secondary school with English translations issued within last 30 days
- Applicants must have a GPA of 2.75 or equivalent on a scale of 4.0
- Submit a transcript evaluation with GPA from an accredited evaluation agency
- Applicants have to go through a screening process for admission
- SAT/ACT scores are not required unless you want to apply for merit scholarships
- Submit English Language Proficiency test scores
English Language Requirements:
- Submit TOEFL score of minimum 520 in PBT; 68 in IBT
- IELTS: minimum 6.0
- iTEP: minimum 4.0
