Each day, millions of people read newspapers, books, and magazines. They also surf the web, wear printed T-shirts, read billboards, receive printed advertisements in the mail, and purchase products in printed packaging. All of these things have one thing in common – Graphic Communications Technology.  Graphic Communications Technology is the field that involves all of the people, equipment, materials, and processes in designing, preparing and reproducing visual images, such as artworks, words, photographs, and symbols in printed and digital formats. You may be wondering what makes the Graphics and Multimedia program different from the Graphic Design program. The Graphic Design program focuses on art history, painting, sculpting, and design. Our program is a cross-disciplinary program in which students take courses in both graphic communications technology and multimedia technology. Through our program, you will develop skills in design, layout, digital prepress, desktop publishing, flexography, offset lithography, screen printing, estimating, cost analysis, digital photography, packaging, web publishing and color imaging while developing technical service, management and supervisory competencies.
