English majors acquire a broad background in literature taking courses that stress literary history, literary genres, and the achievements of individual authors. Their coursework will strengthen their writing and encourage them to think critically. Writing and critical thinking skills are necessities in almost any field and as a result, FAU’s English major will open up a world of career opportunities.

Every semester the department offers a symposium "What can I do with an English degree?" Each symposium is geared to help students identify occupations and possible career paths. Below you will find handouts and slideshows from previous workshops.

Academic Requirements:

Submit official transcripts of all previous education completed
