I chose Florida State because I loved the campus when I toured it and had heard so many great things about it. Florida State was my first choice in colleges and I was so excited to be a Nole when I got in.
Course Curriculum
I think the course curriculum is difficult but challenging at times, it depends on your major but being in the college of medicine is what I would expect. It is harder when there?s such large classroom settings to try and get to know the teacher and build that relationship.
Exams
I took the SAT and ACT. I took the ACT for fun but didn't get that good of a score so I just retook the SAT and got a pretty high score so I only submitted that.
Placement
They provide us with many job opportunities on campus and off campus and not necessarily for the school. In my major, we have to get 64 experiential learning hours every year so that kind of forces you to get into the clinical part of medicine and shadow people. So sometimes it may not be necessarily a job but a great opportunity to continue learning while watching other jobs.
Fees
Fees depend on that if the class is special. For example, an EMT class might cost extra because you need an exam to pass a certification. The only extra fees I ever pay are for the online courses as a 'distance learning' fee.
Scholarship
I have a scholarship from the state of Florida called bright futures. Since I did so well on my SAT and the needed number of community service hours I was rewarded with my tuition to be fully paid for along with $300 for books every semester.
Examination Structure
Typically the tests are written answers. It depends on the class because in biology and anatomy it was mostly multiple choice. But chemistry and physics are all written because they rely a lot on math.
Faculty
I believe they try to provide their expertise in order to help us in the best way possible. They want to see us become successful products of the school so they help us a lot.
Hostel
I liked living on campus a lot because I was very close to everything and rarely ever needed gas. Living off campus now I kind of wish I still lived on campus because I have to commute and finding parking is awful most of the time.
