JHU is among the top 10 Universities in the world in chemistry, their chemistry program is very broad and versatile.
Course Curriculum
They offer lots of courses in various subjects, you are allowed to take courses outside your department, which makes it really updated. I have even taken courses by some Nobel Laureates. Course syllabi are all very progressive and unique.
Exams
JHU requires GRE main and sub ( at least for the chemistry program), and TOEFL. GRE ( mine was 326), GRE chemistry, TOEFL ( mine was 109)
Placement
We have regular job fairs where a lot of companies appear from time to time. The placement rate is quite high for on-campus job searches as well as outside. Ph.D. students often get excellent post-doc positions and jobs after graduation.
Internship
No, not yet.
Events
The campus is beautiful and really safe. There are tons of extracurricular activities you can choose from if you want.
Fees
It’s $57000 for 12 months
Scholarship
No outside scholarship, I have received full scholarship from the university that covers all of my expenses.
Faculty
In our department, we have about 20 faculties and student intake every year varies between 20 to 40, so the student-to-faculty ratio is very low. Everyone is very helpful and it’s really easy to reach out to any one of them. Due to the low student-to-faculty ratio, all faculties know almost all of the students closely.
Hostel
University does not provide any accommodation for graduate students, we need to rent apartments on our own.
