COMEDK is an entrance exam that facilitates admission into engineering colleges in Karnataka, with placements influenced by exam scores. A rank of approximately 3,000 can secure entry into the Computer Science and Business Systems (CSBS) branch, a new course in collaboration with TCS. The CSBS course, unique to the college in Karnataka, had an opening rank of 1,900 and a closing rank of 3,800, offering promising placement opportunities. The department has 10-12 professors, maintaining a faculty-to-student ratio of 1:30.
The fee structure for non-Karnataka students is ?2.4 lakh per annum, while KCET students pay ?1 lakh per annum. An additional security deposit of ?55,000 is required. The college displays strong placement records, especially in tech branches, with average packages above ?7 LPA. Companies offer packages ranging from ?16 LPA to ?54 LPA, although the highest accepted package this year is between ?45-50 LPA. Around 75-80% of students secure placements, with tech branches achieving about 90%.
Internships are actively provided, with stipends averaging ?20,000. Over 400 companies visited for placements and internships last year. Scholarships and payment options are available, particularly for students with special quotas. Tuition fees are ?50,000 per annum for a government seat, ?1,00,000 for a private seat (both through KCET), and ?2.5 lakh per annum for a COMEDK or management seat. Despite higher fees for COMEDK students, limited scholarships are available. Separate fees apply for hostel and mess facilities.
