Kumaun University offers 3-year full time undergraduate courses under different specializations. The university offers undergraduate programmes through BA, B.Sc, BBA, B.Ed, etc. Admission to all UG programmes except some is done on the basis of the merit in the last qualifying examination (10+2). Kumaun University UG Eligibility Criteria:

• For admission to B.A programmes under different specializations, the candidate must have a 10+2 certificate from a recognized board or institution with a minimum percentage as required by the university.
• For admission to B.Sc programmes under different specializations, the candidate must have a 10+2 certificate from a recognized board or institution with a minimum percentage as required by the university.
• For admission to BCA, BBA, B.Lib.Sc, B.Com, BHM, the candidate must have a 10+2 certificate from a recognized board or institution with a minimum percentage as required by the university.
• For admission to the B.Pharma, the candidate must have a 10+2 certificate in a relevant subject from any recognized board or institution.
• For admission to the B.Ed programme, the candidate must have a graduation degree from a recognized institution approved by the UGC with a minimum percentage of 50%.
• For admission to the LLB, the candidate must have a graduation degree from a recognized institution approved by the UGC with a minimum percentage of 45% (40% for SC/ST candidates)

Kumaun University UG Selection Process:

• The final selection to the BCA, BBA, BHM, B.A, B.Sc, and other UG programmes is done on the basis merit list. The merit list is prepared on the basis of marks obtained by students in the last qualifying examination.
• The final selection to the B.Pharma, B.Ed and LLB is done on the basis of the entrance examination conducted by the university. The merit list will be prepared according to marks obtained by candidates in the entrance examination. Selected candidates will be invited for further admission process.

Kumaun University offers postgraduate programmes under different specializations across all major streams. The eligibility criteria and final selection to the course is decided by the university. Kumaun University PG Eligibility Criteria

• For admission to MA programmes under different specializations, the candidate must have a BA degree in a relevant stream from a recognized board or institution. Candidates must have a minimum percentage as required by the university to apply for the programme.
• For admission to M.Sc programmes under different specializations, the candidate must have a B.Sc degree in a relevant stream from a recognized board or institution. Candidates must have a minimum percentage as required by the university to apply for the programme.
• For admission to M.Com and MFA, the candidate must have a bachelor degree in a relevant subject from a recognized board or institution with a minimum percentage of 50% marks.
• For admission to MBA, the candidate must have a bachelor's degree in any stream for a recognized board or institution.
• For admission to LLM, the candidate must have LLB degree from a recognized board or institution with a minimum of 50% 
• For admission to M.Pharma, the candidate must have a B.Pharm degree from a recognized board or institution with minimum percentage as required by the University.

Kumaun University PG Selection Process

• The final selection to MA, M.Com, M.Sc, and other PG programmes is done on the basis of the merit list directly released by the college. The merit list is released on the basis of marks obtained by students in the last qualifying examination.
• The final selection to MBA, M.Pharma, LLM is done on the basis of the entrance examination conducted by the university. Candidates will be called for further admission process after the announcement of the merit list by the university.

Kumaun University offers a Ph.D. programme under different specializations. The minimum duration for the Ph.D. programme under each specialization is 3 years and the maximum duration is 6 years.

Kumaun University Ph.D. Eligibility Criteria

Candidates seeking admission to the Ph.D. programme must possess a master degree in a relevant subject with a minimum percentage of 55% in aggregate.

Kumaun University Ph.D. Selection Process

The final selection to the Ph.D. course is done on the basis of the entrance examination conducted by the university. Candidates who already have cleared UGC NET/JRF are called directly for the interview round. After the interview round, the final merit list is released by the university.
