Banda University of Agriculture and Technology (BUAT) , being the first agricultural university in the Bundelkhand region, offers UG and PG courses in Agriculture, Forestry, Horticulture and Home Science.
Admissions are based on entrance and merit.
- B.Sc in Agriculture/Horticulture/Forestry (H) requires students to have passed 10+2 exams with Agriculture Science as a compulsory subject. Also qualifying UPCATET.
- M.Sc in Agriculture/Horticulture/Forestry requires applicants to complete B.Sc in Agriculture or B.Sc (H) along with scores in UPCATET.
- B.Sc in Home Science applicants must have studied Home Science or PCM/PCB. They must also submit scores of UPCATET to be eligible for admission.
- Students who qualify for CUSAT are also eligible for admission to the M.Sc program.
- English as a compulsory subject is a mandatory requirement for admission to all programs at BUAT.
Students must appear for counselling post qualifying UPCATET entrance. They must carry necessary documents and identification proofs along with them. Seats will be allotted based on final scores and preference for subject and institution.

BUAT Admission Process 2023
There are two steps for acquiring admission at BUAT. First of all the student must apply and qualify for UPCATET. Following which counselling takes place. Read on for instructions:
UPCATET Application
If the student is willing to apply through online mode:
- The student must visit the official website for the application form.
- Select Apply Online and agree to the terms and conditions to continue.
- First the student must register using a valid email ID.
- All the required information in the application form must be filled accurately.
- The photograph of the student must be uploaded.
- The print out of the application form must be taken and preserved for usage during counseling etc.
- An application fee of INR 1250 (For general category) or 1NR 1050 (For SC/ST) can be paid through credit/debit card, e-challan etc.
If the student is willing to apply through offline mode :
- The application form can be purchased from Narendra Dev University of Agriculture and Technology or can download from the online portal.
- Fill the form along with the required documents.
- DD of application fee of INR 1250 (For general category) or 1NR 1050 (For SC/ST) must be enclosed with the form.

UPCATET Counselling Process
The students are required to apply and appear for the exam. Counselling is the second step after qualifying for the entrance. The standard procedure has been explained below
- Once the results are announced, the counseling takes place.
- The students will be alloted seats based on merit/reservation/number of seats available.
- The counseling letter must be downloaded from the website.
- The schedule of counseling like date, time, place will be specified in the letter.
- While appearing for counseling session, the student must carry
- Attested online application form,
- Attested photocopies of 10+2/B.Sc degree certificates,
- Sports certificate (If available) ,
- Character Certificate,
- Passport size photographs,
- Transfer/ migration certificate.
- Along with those documents , the students must bring along 2 bank DDs: INR 500 as counseling fee and INR 5000 as initiation fee.
- If the candidate fails to bring any of the above mentioned documents, his/her admission will be canceled.
