You should prefer RUHS Jaipur. It has a good hospital attachment. In terms of academics, infrastructure, co-curricular activities, etc. it is a good option. It is a new college but has a higher cutoff. RUHS has a locational advantage as well. Jaipur has better PG coaching centers. These are some of the reasons that make RUHS a better choice.
One of my friends had been studying in RUHS Jaipur and according to her, SN Jodhpur is not well known as compared to RUHS. Here are some of the important factors that she mentioned about RUHS.
However, you should choose according to your convenience. Take other important factors such as location into consideration, while choosing the institute.
RUHS BSc Nursing syllabus contains topics from 10+2 Biology, Physics, Chemistry of Rajasthan Board or equivalent. You can find the detailed syllabus on the official website of the institute.
The video gives a detailed explanation of semester-wise RUHS BSc Nursing Syllabus
The questions asked in the examination are objective type. The question paper will be in English and Hindi both. There is no provision for negative marking.
The procedure for admissions in RUHS MBBS Jaipur as in payment seats is very much similar to the government seats.
The academic requirement for admission at RUHS is 10+2. In order to be eligible, you need to have a Science background with Biology as the main subject from a recognized board. You need to appear for the NEET-UG examination and then apply for counseling. The seats are allocated during the counseling process. The admission is based on the cutoff, and then a seat will be allotted.
The recent year cutoff trend was around AIR 5000 for MBBS for general category students. For BDS, it is around AIR 5800-8000.
If you are getting Govt. seats at RUHS CMS, then you should definitely choose it. If you are getting payment seats in both RUHS CMS and JMC, then you should choose the former if you don’t have any financial constraints. Because the quality of teaching at the institute is better. The college campus is amazing. Jaipur is full of heritage sites that you can exposure.
If you don’t have the financial backup then choosing JMC will be better. As the course fee for MBBS at the university is only 1.17 lakhs.
A major drawback of doing MBBS from RUHS Jaipur is the lack of exposure. You will need to rely on your friends for getting information regarding research, exposure, extra-curricular, events, conference, etc.
One upside of this lack of exposure is that you will get to participate in research projects without the competition of your classmates.
Also, there is a lack of equipment in Rajasthan medical colleges. That limits qualitative approach towards research projects.
RUHS CMS is still a new institute. So, research projects based on equipment will be difficult. Doing case studies, statistical analysis, etc. is possible.
There are 15 NRI quota seats out of 100 seats in every branch of MBBS at RUHS Jaipur. Only students with Rajasthan domicile, an NRI account with Rajasthan counseling can join through the NRI quota.
In the NRI quota, there is no reservation. An AIR of around 40,000 should get you a seat in RUHS through the NRI quota.
Govt. colleges are better than reputed private colleges because of the huge difference in fees. The payment seats at private colleges in Rajasthan will cost you around 40 lakhs. The fees in Govt. medical colleges, on the other hand, is around 40,000-50,000 only.
The quality of academics at Govt. colleges and private colleges are almost the same. Professor can’t teach you the whole syllabus. In your MBBS, you will have to do a lot of self-study. Out of 19 subjects, 4-5 are for self-study. So, it’s better to choose a Govt. college, where the fees are less. Sawai Man Singh Medical College, Dr. Sampurnanand Medical College, Sardar Patel Medical College, are among the many good Govt. colleges in Rajasthan.
Here are the recent cutoff trends for RUHS.
Category | NEET Cutoff |
General | 617-1130, 9421-16789 |
SC | 12223 |
Usually OBC cutoff is more or less the same as the General category cutoff. For categories like SC, ST, STA, the cutoff is much lower due to reservation. There are also 15 NRI seats. The cutoff for NRI seats is comparably lower and it also changes each year.
