IIT Bhilai - Indian Institute of Technology - [IITB], Bhilai - Scholarship Details

IIT Bhilai offers an array of scholarships for its students enrolled among both undergraduate and postgraduate programs. The institute highly encourages its students to apply for the following scholarships. However, there is a certain requirement for each scholarship that should be matched by the applying student before applying. 

Merit Cum Means Scholarship:

• The Merit Cum Means Scholarship is only available to 25% of students in UR and OBC categories.
• The economically weak students having an annual family income between INR 1 lakh to INR 5 lakh who avail 2/3rd remission of the tuition fee will be eligible for 1/3rd reimbursement of tuition fee per semester + pocket money of INR 1000 per month.
• In order to be eligible for the MCM scholarship, students must have maintained a minimum CGPA of 6.0 and their annual family income should not exceed INR 5 lakhs for UR students and INR 6 lakhs for OBC students. 

Institute SC/ST Scholarship:

• Under the Institute's SC/ST Scholarship Scheme, all the undergraduate students of SC/ST categories are included and can avail the scholarship.
• Students applying for the SC/ST Scholarship should have an annual family income not exceeding INR 4.5 lakhs and INR 5 lakhs for UR students and INR 6 lakhs for OBC students.
• Free messing and boarding along with a pocket allowance of INR 250 per month is awarded to the students under this scheme.
• Also, students should have a minimum CGPA of 7.0.

Institute Free Studentship Scholarship:

• The Institute Free Studentship Scholarship is awarded to only 10% of the undergraduate students whose annual family income is less than INR 5 lakhs for UR Students per annum and INR 6 lakhs for OBC students per annum.
• Also, the economically weak students having an annual family income between INR 1 lakh to INR 5 lakh who avail 2/3rd remission of the tuition fee will be eligible for 1/3rd reimbursement of tuition fee per semester.
• In order to be eligible for the Institute Free Studentship Scholarship, students should have scored a minimum CGPA of 6.0.

Institute Fellowship to Postgraduate Students:

• IIT Bhilai also offers paid fellowships to its postgraduate students such as Non-Sponsored M.Tech students having a valid GATE score for a maximum of 21 months.
• For the Ph.D. students, the institute offers fellowships for 3 years.
