Ashoka University Chancellors’s Merit Scholarship

• Ashoka University has launched Chancellor’s Merit Scholarships for Young India Fellows, independent of the University’s Need-based Financial Aid programme.
• A total of 10 scholarships covering the tuition and registration fee will be given to candidates admitted to the YIF Class of 2025.
• Candidates will be shortlisted based on academic, non-academic and/or professional excellence, combined with performance in the holistic selection process.
• The YIF Admissions Committee will conduct an interview for the Chancellor’s Merit Scholarship.
• As per the statistics of YIF class of 2024, 12 Fellows’24 are Chancellor’s Merit Scholarships. 

Ashoka University Need-Based Financial Aid 

• Ashoka University’s need-based Financial Aid has been initiated to bridge the gap between the cost of the programme and the ability to pay. 
• Candidate or their family/guardian can have a look at various resources that will be provided to them towards financing the cost of the YIF programme.
• Ashoka University has collaborated with institutions that extend educational loans to students to complement their need-based financial aid. 

Ashoka University Need-Based Financial Aid Guidelines 

• The form for availing of financial aid will be open once in each round for a period of one week. 
• The candidate has a one-time opportunity to seek the financial aid form. Requests made after receiving an offer of admission will be not entertained. 
• There are only a few days between knowing their shortlist status and the opening of the Financial Aid form, so the candidate must be equipped with the documents to avaoid wastage of time. 
• Documents should be in PDF/JPG files of sizes under 2MB, with a minimum resolution of 200 DPI. 
• Zip folders under 2MB containing all the documents are also accepted.

Documents Required for Ashoka University Need-Based Financial Aid

Candidate must keep the below-mentioned documents handy.

• Income Tax Returns for FY 2021-22, 2022-23 and 2023-24 (last 3 years)
• Bank Account Statements (for the last 12 months)
• Salary Statements (for the last 3 months)
• Loan Statements (if a loan expense is shown)
• Details of the family’s financial assets, such as investments, real estate, vehicles, etc.
• Details of any loans, mortgage, etc.

Additional Documents:

• For business families and professionals – Financial Statements for FY 2021-22, 2022-23 and 2023-24 (last 3 years) including P&L Statement, Balance Sheet & Form 26AS. Further, Details of main expenses (only information is required)
• The Candidate’s Haryana Domicile Certificate for Haryana Residents. 

Ashoka University Need-Based Financial Aid Application Process

Steps to be followed during Ashoka University Need-Based Financial Aid Application Process are as follows:

• Step 1: The candidate must be familiar with the financial aid application to understand the philosophy, documentation and information required for submitting a Financial Aid application. 
• Step 2: After that candidate can apply for  Need-Based Financial Aid.
• Step 3:The office of financial aid will then assess the candidate’s application and information provided in the online form..
• Step 4: Selected candidates will be sent an Offer of Admission and Financial Aid by the Admissions Committee. ​

Ashoka University Financial Aid at UG & PG Level

As per the data available here is some information on Ashoka University Financial Aid for different courses.

• Ashoka University has supported approximately 47% of UG students who have received some form of financial grant. Out of which, 61% have received partial tuition waivers while 39% have received a minimum of 100% Tuition waiver or more (Hostel/Meals)
• For the students of MA Economics Programme, the university has supported approximately 55% of students who have received some form of financial grants. Out of which, 47% have received partial tuition waivers while 53% have received a minimum of 100% Tuition waiver or more (Hostel/Meals).
• The Financial Aid granted for MA English Program at Ashoka University ranges from a 25% waiver on the Tuition Fee to a 100% waiver on the Tuition Fee, Residence and Meals Costs.
